About Carba:
Carba is working to mitigate the worst effects of climate change by permanently removing billions of tons of carbon dioxide from the atmosphere. We have developed an innovative process that involves the pyrolysis of biomass waste to create charcoal (solid carbon) that is buried underground where it is stable for thousands to millions of years.
Position Overview:
We are looking for passionate, hardworking, fast-paced, and innovative individuals to join our growing team. Objectives and Responsibilities:
Reactor development and deployment
Functioning and deployment of automated reactor operations with VFDs, actuators, sensors and remote computer infrastructure e.g., PLC ( Phoenix Contact, Ignite)
Install, debug and optimize performance of controls system
Develop IOT infrastructure to monitor and control reactors remotely
Work in cross-functional team to complete reactor development
Develop safety protocols and documentation.
Assist with the design and layout of reactor sites especially as it pertains to automation and communication
Develop written reactor operating protocols and user documentation
Other projects as assigned by Carba leadership
Skills and Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, or related discipline
3+ years of work experience in relevant industry
Experience with automation equipment and IOT
Ability to design full stack automation to control motors, actuators and sensors remotely
Demonstrated ability to solve highly technical problems
Excellent demonstrated written and oral communications skills
Self-motivated, organized, thrives in small team environment, likes challenges, accountable, looking for growth
Ability to work independently with minimal oversight
