Minneapolis, MN – Carba is pleased to announce the appointment of Patricia Loria as SVP, Commercial. In this new role, Patricia will join the founding leadership team to drive the growth of the company, whose mission is to capture 1 GtCO2e by 2035 by turning waste biomass into stable carbon products.
Loria has been a global leader in the carbon dioxide removal (CDR) space where she most recently served as the VP, Business Development at CarbonCapture Inc. (a direct air capture company) and the President of the Board of Governance of the Carbon Capture Coalition. Loria also serves as the President of the Board at the Model Forest Policy Program, a 501(c)(3) organization focused on climate adaptation through better rural management of natural resources. Her experience across all aspects of commercialization including marketing, sales, partnerships, projects and fundraising will further strengthen Carba’s vision to use the world’s waste to reverse climate change.
“We are thrilled to welcome Patricia Loria to the Carba team,” said Andrew Jones, CEO of Carba. “Her deep experience spearheading the deployment of direct air capture, including the execution of multi-year offtake contracts, will help us rapidly deploy our systems and be a global leader in the CDR market.”
Loria holds a Masters of Business Administration from the Darden School, University of Virginia, and a Masters of Natural Resources from Virginia Tech. Before joining CarbonCapture, Patricia was a Client Engagement Lead at the Global CCS Institute and spent 20 years in various business development functions in companies like MasterCard and United HealthCare.
“I was drawn to the commonsense, practical, and easily deployable solution that the Carba team is building,” Loria said. “Carba’s first deployments will be in landfills. Carbon dioxide can be stored with 1,000+ year permanence while also providing significant co-benefits such as trapping toxins and reducing odors - all while using waste materials. This project will be delivering credits this year which is incredible for the fight against climate change.”
